Love From a Distance

Your only obligation was
a daily call
and perhaps
a couple of flirty emails
but the closest we got to
an actual relationship
was a talent for phone sex
bickering about whose turn it was
to make the coffee during
your occasional visits and
trying to sift through the morass
of daily trials and tribulations
to come up with interesting anecdotes
and clever observations
for post-coital conversations.
