boyfriend girlfriend

She hangs kisses from my earlobes
sews our fingers together
with red wine thread
drinks coffee when I drink tea and
tea when I drink coffee.

She holds my hands like
the longest day of the year
smiles like a setting autumn sun
tells me how beautifully messy
I am.

She speaks love like water over
strawberry pie lips
giggles with the taste of
her lips on mine
kisses like lightning
desperate to be permanent
makes space for me to crawl
deep in her skin
until we melt into one.
