The Quiet Approach of Autumn

Air rustles brittle
as winter's chill
begins its journey into the ground.

Emerald fades to crimson and gold,
frozen moisture mirroring myriads
of rising suns.

All becomes immobilized
until Persephone
releases her spring breezes
to re-awaken the land.
